How we choose the hospitals we work with
Independence, verified credentials, and no shortcuts — exactly how Yiren vets every hospital before it reaches you.
When you're considering care in another country, one question matters more than any other: can I trust the hospital? You can't easily fly out to inspect it, read the physicians' credentials in your own language, or tell an internationally respected centre from a clinic with a polished website. That verification is our job — and we don't take shortcuts with it.
Yiren doesn't deliver medical care. We don't run hospitals, employ the physicians, or make clinical decisions. What we do is make sure the hospital and the people treating you are exactly who they claim to be, before you ever commit to anything. Here's how.
We start from independence
We're not owned by any hospital, and we're not anyone's sales channel. That single fact shapes everything else: our job is to recommend the right place for your situation, not to fill a particular provider's beds. If a hospital isn't the right fit for what you need — or doesn't meet our standards — we don't send you there, regardless of any commercial relationship.
[Optional — add your real stance on referral fees here, e.g. "Where a hospital pays a referral fee, we disclose it, and it never influences who we recommend."]
What we check before a hospital reaches you
Every hospital we work with is reviewed against the same criteria:
- Accreditation and licensing. We confirm the hospital holds current national accreditation and operating licences [and international accreditation such as JCI, where applicable]. We verify this against official records — not the hospital's own marketing.
- Physician credentials. We check that the specialists who would treat you are licensed, qualified, and actively practising in the relevant field. A hospital's reputation is only as good as the individual physician in the room with you.
- Specialty depth. For your specific need — a screening, a rehabilitation programme, a cancer second opinion — we look for genuine experience in that area, not a general facility that happens to offer everything.
- English-capable coordination. A hospital can be excellent and still leave you lost if nothing is translated. We confirm that interpretation and English-language reporting can be arranged around your care.
- Transparency on cost. We only work with hospitals willing to give a clear, written, all-in quote before you travel. If a provider can't or won't price your care up front, that's a problem — and it disqualifies them.
- Privacy and records handling. We check how your medical records and personal data are handled, and we share them securely, with your consent, only at the appropriate stage.
How the process works
Vetting isn't a one-time stamp. For each hospital, we run a documented review of its accreditation and physician credentials, verify them against the relevant registries, and assess whether it genuinely fits the kind of care our patients ask for. Then, when we match you to a hospital, we do it for your specific case — your condition, your goals, your constraints — rather than defaulting to whoever we've used before. And we keep that relationship under review: a hospital that stops meeting the standard stops being recommended.
What we won't do
We won't take a hospital's word for its own credentials. We won't recommend a provider because it's convenient for us, or because it pays the most. And we won't cross the line into medicine: we don't diagnose, we don't decide your treatment, and we don't form medical opinions. All clinical decisions are made by licensed hospital physicians. Our role is to make sure those physicians — and the place they work — have earned your trust before you're standing in front of them.
Why this matters for you
The result is simple: by the time a hospital is presented to you, the homework is already done. You're choosing between options that have been checked, in plain English, with a fixed price and a named coordinator who stays with you. You don't have to become an expert in foreign healthcare accreditation overnight — that's exactly the part we take off your plate.
